The Military Museums - Review
The army is often taken for granted and as a result, under appreciated. There are certain periods in history where the army has played a crucial role in either defending their own land, or helping liberate the lands of others. How much ever is said about the armed forces is enough; the people at the Military Museum took quite a decent swing at it.
With eight museums within its premises, the Military Museums is dedicated to Canada’s army, air force and navy to inform the visitors about the victories, tragedies and sacrifices of the armed forces.

The Military Museums, Calgary Reviews
This is a reasonably new place and is extremely well kept. The displays are very interesting and one could spend a good share of the day if they take the time to look at everything. By the way if you are a veteran of any military service of any country you get in free. I recommend it highly if you have any interest in military history.
This was our third time here, and we’ve always loved it. So important our young people understand our military history. One full day here is not enough. I would, for an extra fee, love to have a veteran or currently serving/enlisted come and take small groups (adults only) through here. There is so much to read and see, and long the way I find I often have questions. I’d love that opportunity.
A great place to find out about our Canadian military heritage including all services and especially army units that have called southern Alberta home. The galleries are maintained by volunteers who are connected to these units. The displays are wonderful including actual artifacts.
One of the best museum's I have been too! I did a trip all through western Europe looking at museums relating to WWI/WWII and this museum is easily comparable to what I saw over there. They have a large abundance of items to see and its easy to spend 4 plus hours in there! My only complaint is that it would be nice if security showed a friendly face. We ran into a girl working the exhibit at the top of the stairs near the naval area and she came accross as slightly rude (like our presence distrubered the quiet she had prior to us coming in).
Very professional military museum focusing on the history of the Royal Canadian Navy and the many regiments of Southern Alberta. Great display of armoured vehicles and volunteers working on restoration of antique military equipment. Well worth the visit!
