When to go
The best time to visit Cameroon is during March and April. This is also a great time as you will get great deals for accommodation and travel. Some of the other months are November to February which are dry but not too hot as the summer season just ends during this time. February is also a great time as you can join athletes in the Race of Hope.
Destinations to cover
Your Cameroon travel guide will have a variety of things to do. Start with Yaounde which is famous for its cathedrals, monuments, zoos and housing different species of gorillas. Limbe is a great tourist destination, thanks to the beach resorts, the sea side views and the gardens. Bamenda is amazing for lakes, Douala for its nightlife and cathedrals along with maritime museums, Dschang for its museums, Kribi for its vibrancy and Buea for its lakes. Some of the other places that should definitely find a place in your Cameroon itinerary are Kumba, Bafossum and Ebolowa amongst others.
Get in and around
If you are thinking of how to reach Cameroon, then your options are limited but feasible. You can take a plane to the Cameroon International Airport via Europe and Africa as most major cities have flights connecting to Cameroon. Other way to get in is via boat but it is not very feasible. The bus service is not very prominent anymore due to the violence raging on most borders around the country. To travel within the country, you can go around via buses to the major cities and by car in the city.
Hotels and Food
There are plenty of hostels available for budget accommodation and there are also various mid range along with luxury hotels available if you wish to shell out little more. Food is quite cheap, but the availability of food for vegans is much lower. Some of the dishes that you should definitely try out from street vendors here are Safou a la sauce tomate, Easy Fufu, Traditional Fufu, Ndole, Banana and Pineapple Salad amongst many others.
