If you are traveling in the Juneau County, Wisconsin, then you can pay a visit to the Wisconsin National Guard Museum to spend some time in a nice way. This museum tries its best to portray the history of those who served the nation as national guards. The museum is well-organized and full of important artifacts that depict the history of the brave hearts. Wisconsin National Guard Museum, Camp Douglas Reviews
This was a neat little museum. But to get to it, you need to enter Camp Douglas and Volk Field. This means going through security which means a car search before entering the base. Security took my husband's driver's license and held onto it until we left. They also gave us a GPS unit to keep in our car and they told us they would be tracking it throughout the base and we could only go to the museum and nowhere else. That was an adventure! The museum is very informative and is no charge. There is a bathroom inside. You can also walk outside and look at tanks on display and various aircraft on display.
Ayy, there were planes! So lit.
Worth a stop! Nice museum with good historic artifacts.
A very nice place. I highly recommend it if you are ever in the area. It is conveniently located off of I 90 via Exit 55. Admission is free. The museum is on Camp Williams/Volk Field. A military I.D. IS NOT REQUIRED to enter this base. The curator knows a lot of military history.
