One of the most beautiful parts of Campbell River in British Columbia, Elk Falls Provincial Park is a great picnicking spot for families. A popular provincial park in Canada, Elk Falls Park covers an area of 1,087 hectares. Established in the year 1940, this park can be found on the east end of John Hart Lake. The purpose of park’s establishment was protecting the canyon and the waterfall. A suspension bridge was also constructed over the canyon in 2015.
Elk Falls Provincial Park Reviews & Ratings
Great place to spend a couple hours on an afternoon. Trails are smooth and easy walking for all ages. There are some stairs but they are well built so should be no problem for most people. Suspension bridge is great. It’s secured against side to side swaying so if you’re nervous about these bridges you should be fine. Lots of great view points of the waterfall, old growth trees, and wildlife.
Great spot for a nice hike with huge trees and good falls. And not far at all good for most ages and can make it a longer hike too if you would like.
Roar of the falls was impressive. The suspension bridge was very cool, walking over the falls and watching the river flow below us was quite the rush. Stairs were a little daunting, (bad knees) but the footing was good and the climbs down and up were surprisingly easy.
Loved the easy hike, we did it with our kids. The suspension bridge was great, had really great veiws
There is a great view of Elk Falls, with an excellent trail to the viewpoint and a nice big parking lot.
