Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra Reviews

  • Lake Burley Griffin is the most beautiful area. The size means there is ample space for multiple visitors to enjoy it at the same time. I visited mid October and it was a warm spring day so the walk was most enjoyable. It's the perfect location for photos, especially since some of the main tourist attractions in Canberra can be seen in the background.

  • This is where I run and can be a fun place for local people and visitors alike. The distance of the inner circuit using the bridges is close to 5km. Lots of sights, particularly with the gallery just off the track and National Library. There are even Sedgeways for hire for those wanting to see more of the lake on a time, or exercise, budget.

  • Good for a jog in the warmer months. DO NOT SWIM! Yuck!

  • I once tried to go swimming in this lake and it was realy cold. A crocodile bit my big toe off and i had to be rushed to hospital. I got covered in rubbish cause people be so rude and unkind and throw it on my thinking im apart of the river. i reckon this plash is so uncared for i even saw deadeth duckies. People who walked by just stared didnt even help me. i also lost my budgie smugglers in ther after the attack wit da crocodile so i would like thos back please.

  • Good peaceful lake with ammenities closeby.
