Mount Ainslie Lookout, Canberra Reviews

  • From this lookout you can see whole Canberra, amazing view. It was quite windy so don’t forget to take your jackets and caps. If you go 3min down the walking trail you can have a better and more closer look at the view. Great point to take photos.

  • This location is definitely worth the visit as it has the best views of Canberra. It's really beautiful to stand at the lookout and get a full appreciation of the city. I went on a Monday while in Canberra for four days, so it was nice and quiet at that time. It was easy to access and a free activity.

  • Mount Ainslie is one of the best viewpoints in Canberra. We drive up some nights to take a look at the city and its ever expanding boundaries. The night lights are beautiful. Canberrans also head here during eclipse and other occasions to get a good view. If you are new to the city then make sure you head to Mount Ainslie at least once.

  • Criteria for a five star lookout; accessibility, views, facilities. Access to Mt Ainslie is great, an easy 3km drive up the mountain from Canberra City Views are also great. 360° views of Canberra and mountain ranges beyond. Awesome view of Anzac drive and parliament house. Facilities: no toilets or taps for water.

  • I watched the sunset from the lookout and it really is spectacular. The colours are gorgeous and make for some great photos. You can see all of Canberra and beyond as it is quite high up.
