National Gallery Of Australia - Review
The National Gallery has a number of priced exhibits that intrigue a visitor for hours. The artwork from Monet, Rembrandt and Picasso are the show stoppers at the museum. One can spend the better part of the day at this magnificent museum. There are some superlative aboriginal works on display and the sculpture garden is pretty beyond words. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Canberra itinerary 1 day.

National Gallery Of Australia, Canberra Reviews
What a stunning building, from the outside! We drove down from sydney, 3 plus hours to be met with a monster line up to the Cartier Exhibition - the length of the gallery and back! Surely the operations team could have organized the day better to ensure a positive customer experience?! Perhaps not over sold tickets, or sold tickets for a specific time slot, or a sign, or perhaps update the website with the correct opening time or even communicate wait times! This is an unimpressive experience AND we are yet to walk in. For a national gallery I would have thought that the customer experience would have been valued.
Always worth a visit whether for the regular collection or a block buster. Has a great shop full of beautiful or quirky items and gifts. Gallery staff are helpful and polite. The architecture is also a feature in itself. Don't miss the sculpture garden as even a quick walk through will impress. Take a picnic even the weather is fine as there are lots of spots to spread a blanket between the gallery and lake.
The National Gallery is a great place to visit for locals and tourists alike. They have a variety of free exhibitions and hold a lot of special exhibitions (at a cost) that are wonderful. The gallery is very well set up with varying areas of different artworks, they even have a children’s play area inside the building. There is underground parking (at a cost) directly beneath the gallery itself, otherwise there is a lo of other government car parks nearby also at a cost on weekdays. Public toilets are here and cafe and food options, very close to the city centre of Canberra so easy round.
Fantastic day at the NGA today for the Cartier exhibition. I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition and other standard exhibits. I had no trouble parking (free) in the underground car park. The coffee in the cafe was of a high standard. It is a great day out for all ages.
Our daughter had her wedding reception in April and it was absolutely beautiful. The food and catering was outstanding as were the staff. Highly recommend The National Gallery of Australia.
