Krystal Grand Punta Cancun, Cancun Reviews
The Krystal Grand Punta Cancun was an incredible disappointment. When researching the hotel, it was presented as a decent 4 star establishment. The website actually cites the Krystal Grand Punta Cancun Hotel as “the best price to quality ratio, the most complete and exclusive service…” I had trouble agreeing with either of those sentiments after our stay there. Check in was fine, we were met by two people who offered to take our bags as we met with reception. We were pleased to find out that we were on the the top floor and received our keys and strange hospital-like bands that you’re told to keep on for the duration of your stay. Walking into the room was a let down considered this was a ocean-view on the top floor. The bedding was cheap, not to mentioned stained on the comforters. The linens and towels were rough, almost like the cleaning service crew used too much starch for the laundry. I had trouble finding the “9.9 assessment of the hotel” cited on their website, as we entered our room. Each day thereafter, we joked on how we’d lose a towel each day after room service, as they seemed to fail to finish the job. Some days we had stained sheets, other days none that were visible to the eye. Sometimes our bed wasn’t completed made either, so tough to say room service is even acceptable as a service. One night at around 8:30pm, we heard a knock on our door which was then abruptly opened without the chance to respond. Not only was this uncomfortable from a decency standpoint, we also found our deadlock wasn’t working, thus allowing entry for anyone with a keycard…huge security let down. After speaking with management, they scheduled an appointment to fix the lock and apologized for the abrupt entrance by house keeping. So from there we just dealt with the starchy towels, seemingly dirty linens, cold room temperatures upon entry, minimal service quality, burning hot lobby without AC, and incredibly shaky elevators. I think what did it for me was at checkout, the receptionist claimed we still owed our room fees, despite my boyfriend’s card already being charged in full by Krystal Grand. Once he stated the full amount was paid, she had him email the confirmation and verify with her management that this was in fact paid out. This was incredibly off-putting given we booked directly through the website and the hotel seemed to lack awareness of the status of their reservations and payments. Had we missed that, this would have been a $1000+ mistake. Unacceptable, and again, we received another lacking “I’m sorry.” Reception seems unqualified, was eager to leave our room everyday, totally unsatisfactory from a service perspective and the hotel grade needs to be reassessed. All in all, make sure you seriously consider other hotels before booking this one, also recognize that the website freely exchanges pictures across all of their properties making it unclear what your specific hotel would look like. Be sure to use Google photos, but better yet don’t stay here.
I stayed here in December for one week. There is a lot of things i liked and a lot i didn't. We booked all inclusive through sunwing. PROS amazing food a big variety of food nice people nice room modern amazing beach side view CONS they were taking photos for their website etc during my stay which i understand must happen but they would say the pool is closed until 10 am and it would end up being closed all day. this photo shoot also went on for 5 days!! barley got to use the pool pool was cold when we finally used it service was a hit and miss sometimes it would be great sometimes awful. WORST at breakfast! We would be sitting there for 20 minutes for the bill which all we had to do was sign it because we were all inclusive! our room smelt took us 5 days to realize we could order food at the pool and beach. no one told us there was a pool side menu or service.
Huge variety of food. Tons of activities at great prices. Staff are super friendly. Crystal clear beaches with so many fish! Only downside, if you leave the resort there are lots of people asking for money. But overall 5 star rating
Was there the beginning of the year an this hotel was amazing with beautiful rooms with amazing views.. the staff was attentive and the maids were simply amazing they always left cool animal designs with the blanket I brought from home.. their restaurants on The premises where really good to
Nice affordable beachfront resort! Five stars for price, beach, and proximity to restaurants, bars, and shopping. My husband and I stayed here late January/early February 2018, and we had a great time. The hotel isn't anything fancy, but it met our needs. It is clean and quiet. The hotel is built around a large, airy rotunda with a glass dome, which lets in plenty of natural light even on cloudy days. The beach has beautiful powdery sand and crystal clear water. Even on windy "red flag" days, the swimming was very pleasant. The pool is nice, too! The food is okay but not great, so we're glad we didn't do all inclusive. With so many good restaurants within walking distance, there really isn't any need to get everything on-site. Overall a terrific experience at a reasonable price.
