Xcaret, Cancun Reviews
I was so unsure about visiting Xcaret but I should not have been! I kind of hate crowds/theme parks but this is not like that at all. I don't know why people don't rave about the beaches and snorkeling areas...they are so beautiful and easy to use. I saw a manta ray 7 feet across-gulp. He came in from the ocean and then after circling awhile went back out. I also saw about 10 varieties of colorful fish. We spent 2 weeks in various parts of Mexico and Xcaret is one of the last places we went. It was such a pleasant surprise and such a nice way to cap off the trip. As others have said the shows (including the final one) is phenomenal. It made me proud of Mexico and I'm not even a citizen:-) The buffet is also top notch and includes a beer! Definitely buy the ticket that comes with a meal. The exhibits throughout were so nicely done and the river floats are pretty special too. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend!!!
This is one of the most amazing places in Mexico and anywhere! A huge park showcasing nature, wildlife and culture of the Mexican region in the most fascinating ways. Swim through the caves, watch plants, birds and butterflies at arm's length, dive with the tropical fish, explore the hidden parts and enjoy the grand, colorful evening show. It is truly worth it to come to Cancun region just to spend a day at this place. Warning: beware of overpriced tours from promoters in the cities, their first price is usually about x1.5 higher then they can actually offer. Be nice and haggle on all tours :)
Absolutely love Xcaret! The park has a mix of rides, attractions, aquarium, zoo, nature, and history. The park is well maintained and clean. There are several shows through the day (horse, Mayan, Mexico Extravaganza, etc.), all of which were fun and very professionally done. Our fav is the Extravaganza at night, which is a history and cultural lesson being put on on front of you live. The lazy underground river is a lot of fun as well, however it is quite dark during the first half and could be uncomfortable for some. Basic entrance price is about $100 US, which doesn't include food or drink, but they do have other all inclusive packages. It is well worth the price and we were impressed that the owner gives a lot back to the community!
Our family and I had a great time at this wonderful park, they offer lots of activities for all the family, we had a blast! The only reason I did not give them a 5 star is the wait time when you purchase your ticket online, they only have one ticket window for customer service and is even though there was only 1 family ahead of us we still had to wait over 30 minutes before they we could be helped. X-caret needs to work on that. Other than that, the food, the park and all the shows are amazing!
Best theme park I’ve been to. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Get the photo pass if you can... it’s worth it... you’ll get high quality and high resolution digital pictures from your visit. Get the “Plus” pack that includes an excellent all you can eat buffet lunch. Please don’t miss the “Mexico espectacular” before the park closes; we arrived to the auditorium 1 ½ hours beforehand to get a good view (in December, which is high season), but it was worth it.
