Xel Ha Park is the ideal tourist attraction near Cancun for those of you travelling with a family. Not to be mistaken with a historic site of the same name Xelha which lies within the same premises, this theme park is an aquatic eco-tourism venue. However, do also check out the archeological site while you are here.

The park offers wonderful scuba diving, snorkeling and boating opportunities within the Riviera Maya. The lagoon of the park is home to several species of brightly coloured tropical fish as well as dolphins. There are several treks that can be undertaken as well as interactions with the creatures of the sea that can be sought. There is also a spa in case you are in the mood to relax.  You can try your hand at the Mexican tradition of Temaxcal while here. If you are looking for a place where you can spend the whole day with family, this is the one for you. The main attractions of this park are:

  • Unlimited snorkel
  • Lunch buffet and national open bar
  • Floating tires
  • Children's World
  • Adventure World: aquatic zip-lines, jumps from five meters height and different rope games.
  • Areas of relaxation with hammocks and lounge chairs.

  • There's so many things to do that are included in the ticket price. There are also extra adventures for a little more. It's worth the extra expense for the picture package. We were able to get pictures at the main stopping points without excluding people from our party (who normally snap the pictures). There were photographers around the park taking pictures, as well. It was a service well worth the extra money. Also, the sea trek was the best part of our day!

  • I love this place. A full day of snorkeling, playing and eating. If you love to swim and explore, what a great place! You can float on tubes, small zip lines into the water, paths to walk and explore. If you get bored with snorkeling quickly, not so much for you. But, I loved it!

  • We had a very nice day here, very well organised and our trip leader George was very helpful in explaining the best places to go at what times. ( keep your stuff in the yellow area for easy access and less congestion). The snorkelling is fun and very easy so if your not confident in open water this is a great place to go. However their army many fish, we did see a couple big ones but it was a bit ,jerky in places. Also we got eaten alive by insects walking through the jungle paths and your not allowed chemical sprays. I wish the park would have provided us with bug spray as well as sun cream. As both my boyfriend and I are today covered in insect bites and are quite uncomfortable. I would recommend but beware of getting bitten.

  • This park is amazing! Food was eh though. Definitely nothing special. Alcoholic drinks weren't strong but the tequila shots were good. I had really high expectations and was honestly a little disappointed. We snorkeled for two hours and barely saw any fish!! I would recommend that you wear the flippers, the current is enough that you will want something to push ya along. The water slide was also disappointing. It was long and windy but slow. If you are thinking of going just keep in mind the price. It is worth it mostly cause they include food, drinks, and swimming gear.

  • Totally worth the price. One of our best days. Just got the basic ticket. There are a few other things you can do that cost extra but honestly we didn't have any extra time after doing everything on the basic ticket. Good for kids or adults. The food looks a little underwhelming but was pretty good.
