Once you reach the Sinquerim Beach, you will come across the majestic structure of Fort Aguada. Not only the fort but its 4-storey lighthouse will also impress you. The whole fort complex got built in 1612 by Portuguese rulers in order to defend their side from the Marathas and Dutch. You will find the fort well maintained and the traces of water supply inside the complex from a freshwater spring will startle you for sure. The fort has upper and lower sections to store fresh water and ships. You can visit many rooms in Fort Aguada such as gunpowder room, bastions along with an escape passage.
