This park represents the history of the city aptly. It displays the Westing house generator of 1911 from Portman Shoals Power Plant which weighs around fifty thousand pounds. Anderson was named as ‘Electric City’ after this plant. Though Portman Shoals is submerged under Hartwell lake now, it still is of great historic importance. Another great thing about this project is that it was funded by a local group to make the city more interesting. And it definitely serves the purpose making the city historically and artistically rich.

Generator Park is generally not available on the guided Canon tours, but there are plenty others that are worth visiting.
