Located by the Indian Ocean, the Red Church is a red roofed Roman Catholic Church. On the northernmost tip of Mauritius, the Red Church has made the small fishing village of Cap Malheureux very popular. Although the place has a dark history of shipwrecks, while visiting, you will be mesmerized by the turquoise waters surrounding the Coin de Mire Island and the other four islets. The church is also known as the Notre Dame Auxilliatrice Chapel and is dedicated to Virgin Mary. On Sundays you can join the mass with the local people and the tourists or enjoy a laid-back time at the beach. With azure sky, green foliage and turquoise waters as backdrop, the church is a fantastic spot to get some clicks.
