  • One of my top 5 favorite national parks (and I have been to the majority of them). Amazing vistas, hikes, and coastline. The Park is an aggregate of park land and some private properties spread over several peninsulas/islands. Some of the vertical hiking on Beehive, Precipice, Jordan’s Pond, etc. is incredible for numerous reasons but are not for everyone. You need relatively good physical fitness to make these trails safely. Many non challenging trails as well. Some of the associated towns like Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor etc are a pleasure to visit. Although and unfortunately Bar Harbor has become quite the junk shop Mecca. But still worth the visit. Can be difficult to find parking at attractions when busy. However, the entire Park is covered with transit bus routes that are free due to corporate sponsors. Recommend that you consider parking at one of the bus lots and using hop on/hop off service.

  • What can I say, great drives, we had a picnic on the rocks, and saw the sunset on Cadillac mountain, get your goods before you get to the island, slim pickings within bar harbor. Great wine store on the NW side.

  • Spectacular place!!! We used e-bikes on the Carriage Trails and can highly recommend them. The little (and not so little) boost of the e-bikes allowed us to see much much more than we could have seen otherwise.

  • My wife and I are honeymooning and made Bar Harbor and Acadia NP a stop on our whirlwind tour of Canada and the US... weren't disappointed! Beautiful and first time seeing the ocean.

  • Heaven on Earth and the perfect weekend getaway! There's so many good stargazing spots and hiking spots. It's just amazing.
