Located along the False Bay of the South Atlantic Ocean, the Kalk Bay is a small fishing village, rather a suburban area within the greater Cape Town. Surrounded by the Table Mountain Sandstone and the sapphire ocean, the Kalk Bay is locally named as Lime Bay or Kalbaai. Abundance of Mussel shells on the beach have resulted in setting up lots of Lime Kilns to roast the mussels, which are savoury food items to the inhabitants. Enjoy surfing along the shallow reefs or treat your eyes with the sightings of the Southern Right Whales during the whale watching seasons. On the mountains, you can explore the sandstone caves which are spaeleologistically significant.
