Table Mountain Reviews & Ratings
Go early. The queues get longer as the day goes on. Staff are all excellent and hard working. Breath taking views from the top. Carry a hat and an extra jersey with you. Never know what the weather will be like up there. Smoking is restricted to the plaza outside the cafe on top of the mountain. Make sure to carry water with you. Then just enjoy, this is a special experience
The most iconic of Big 6 in cape town. You can see it from 5 other places listed in Big 6! The mountain is 300 million yrs old & included in the list of New7Wonders of nature. Aerial cable car takes you right to the top. Hiking the mountain is also allowed with guide or with a group. Fynbos can be seen along the way.
A must do for locals and visitors to the mother city. Giving one a 360 degree view of the city, ocean and mountain, its absolutely stunning and scenic. Only if one had gone up in the old car will one appreciate the new one which is larger but also turns as one goes up. Currently a special on so avail yourself to it.
Make sure to bring a camera. The view is breathtaking. You will be taking a lot of photos. Also, we saw two different couples propose there... So, if you wanna pop the question, this might be a good spot.
Excellent afternoon activity! The floor of the cable car rotates so that no matter where you stand you will get a full 360 view of all the scenery around you. If you're lucky you might see some dassies at the top. Around 2pm on a weekday was great, no wait to go up. The cable car is closed for maintenance every year around August so make sure to find out what dates it's closed. It also does not operate during windy weather. If it's cloudy save this for another day - you'll want to see the gorgeous views! There is a snack area and a restaurant and a gift shop at the top. Full wifi as well if you want to eat and enjoy the views from the top. There are plenty of bathrooms as well but limited water to wash your hands. Book online to save money. Rates are approximately 180 rand for a return ticket for an adult.
