This is the place to go for walking on the city walls! Many excellent views. Bring your camera! The audio tour of the castle is also excellent.
You cannot go to Carcasonne without spending time in the Château - to understand how the fort was defended / to walk the walls / to truly see the beauty of this place. Absolutely recommend - be aware if you have a fear of heights there are some parts which may scare you!
What an amazing experience... and incredibly cheap for what you get... The views, learning why things are where they are; understanding the past of this amazing city are a to-do if you are in the area!
Well worth the 9€ entrance. The audio guide is 3€ extra and quite helpful to understand some bits and pieces
9€/person. Takes about 1-2hrs to walk around. Good views and worth a look.
