Cathar Castles, Carcassonne Reviews
Beautiful! Definitely worth a visit! The temporary art installation by FELICE VARINI is fantastic. I am so pleased we had the opportunity to experience it. We did the entire castle wall walk and more. Incl turrets and the many little streets, which took us between 1.30 - 2hrs Views are lovely from the wall in every direction. The ticket counter was backed up and it must have taken about 30 minutes waiting in line to finally get to buy the tickets at €8 each. Actually buying the tickets was very fast. Again, definitely worth the visit.
We loved walking the parapet and enjoying the incredible city views! We spent around 5 hours in the city walls, had lunch, walked the walls, toured the castle, and did some shopping. It was time well-spend! Also recommend seeing the cathedral.
A very tourist focused place with lots of touristic attractions that fit the theme like bow shooting. It's also a very educational place with most of the things spread out between both towers. Warning: there's a lot of stairs to climb.
The old town with in the city walls is beautiful and well worth a wonder about the place. If you go in to the chateaux you can also walk round sections of the city walls which gives you great views.
This was perhaps one of the best part of the medieval Carcassonne. It is situated on a higher altitude and one would love to walk from one end to the other end to admire the beautiful city view. You can take a look of beautiful photographs here and love experience for children!
