Off night? Interesting location. Menu looked very good. Service and food was below average. We were a party of seven ordering five different entrees. The two cannelloni served at a nice temperature. The other five entrees we're cold or just barely warm. Desserts were good. We had to ask for refills on all of our drinks. I am not sure if they were short staffed that night but it was definitely a below average meal and service. Based on how many people dining on a Wednesday night and how long they have been serving diners my assumption it was just an off night for them.
Credit to the chef, excellent! I took couple of stars due to seating location. Was not comfirtable, it was veranda seating by the door. We came earlier and there were plenty of tables but hostess took us to less desirable table in a huge restaurant, unfortunately. We couldnt take of our jackets, it was cold. I wish we had a better table.
Wonderful experience. Stumbled upon it for lunch on Labor Day weekend, and we were immediately seated on the adorable patio. Extensive wine list. Enjoyed a authentic croque-monsieur, a properly steamed mussel dish, and a delicious bottle of rose. Tastefully busy, so don't expect snobby, pampered service.
Amazing. The gnocchi was the best but everything was delicious. Our server was not very good at recommendations, food or mixed drinks, but was the right level of attentive. Overall fantastic experience since everything I ate was perfectly prepared.
This is our third visit to Casanovas in the last 10 years, and only because we had a $60 gift certificate to waste. Even with our gift certificate accompanying us, our dining experience remained the same as the last 2 visits. Again, we were very disappointed by quality and portions of the dishes as well as the disinterested service we were provided. The restaurant seems to offer just a long list of wines to cater to its European ambiance along with an unexciting menu. We ordered the meat canelloni and the pork ravioli; both dishes tasted like reheated pasta with poor quality meat (greasy and tuff). We had to ask for bread twice, eventually it came 20 minutes after we were served our main dishes. When our bread did arrive, it was chewy and bland. In the end, we opted not to have dessert and felt the $22 out of pocket we spent in addition to the $60 allotted for us on the gift certificate ($82 total) left us leaving the restaurant feeling cheated. I have no regrets saying this is the last time we will be visiting Casanovas together or with friends that come to town.
