Tassajara Zen Mountain Center located amidst the Southeast of Carmel by Sea in California is one of the oldest Buddhist Monastery in California. This monastery is located in a very isolated area nearly 26km from the main road. The road that leads to this place is very narrow and you must be careful while walking. During winter season this place is closed and only monks residing in the center stays there. In the summer season the monastery remains open for guests throughout and even guests can stay overnight.
