Norman Castle is a sight of ruins amongst the beautiful city of Lamezia Terme. The city itself is of great historical importance as is the castle. It was constructed around the ninth century. Supposedly built by Greek colonists, the present monument showcases Norman architecture. Earthquakes in 1609, 1638 and 1783 damaged the castle severely. In fact, it is said that Prince Cesare D'Aquila died caught under the crushing structure.
