Best Time To Visit Cartagena

Cartagena usually doesn’t have typical seasons but is hot and humid year-round and heavy rainy months, the perfect time to visit would be the earlier part of the year, from January to April when it is breezy and has clear skies. The weather is less muggy in Cartagena than what it is during the summers that start from May. The city goes nuts in the month of November with its own version of Carnival. From independence parades to street parties to boat parties. The madness strikes in the best form.

  • Dry Season with cooler temperatures: The winters (November to April) the city is at its best. A perfect time to visit the place as the skies are clear and it is much cooler. The average temperature is 25 degrees Celsius. It stays cloudy most of the time.  Although the few warm clothes might take up a little more space, but this time of the year is perfect to explore the city without the weather hustle.
  • Wet Season with the hottest temperatures: May to October is probably the worst time to visit as the scorching heat is at its best and humidity touches heights. The average temperature is usually around 31 degrees Celsius. Sticky summers are not the perfect time to be out on the streets. The city experiences 100% humidity throughout the year. September to October is the wettest months with heavy rains hitting the city. Definitely, not an ideal time to visit Cartagena.
