After a ride full of twists and turns, when you finally reach the Bateria de Castillitos, it is a revelation! Castillitos is situated at an altitude of 250 meters, and its facade was built out like an castle medieval following a historicist style with influences of eclecticism and modernism. Home to 3 large cannons, the castle was built as a military defence structure and is fairly new. While there, do explore the underground tunnels and take in the magnificent views of the coastline.

Great day out with the family, exploring the tunnels, the big guns and plenty of walking! The road up to the guns is a bit narrow but great views!
Really great place, car drive up was fun, with some great views. Need to keep an eye on small kids as it's not the most health and safety conscious place! The big guns are great!
Great place to visit but a missed opportunity as no café shop etc. So bring some drink (especially in the summer). Great views and historical. Be careful with children as it's easy to fall off and trip over some of the buildings etc.
Great place. Old military installation built in 1933/36 to protect Cartagena, with two huge Vickers 381 mm guns. These have been painted black and many of the surrounding buildings restored, plus there are two other smaller guns. Lots of the other buildings have been left to decay and you can just mooch around at you leisure. Even if you aren't interested in guns, there are wonderful views from the cliffs, north to Cartagena and south to Mazaron. Well worth the 5 mile drive up the single track road.
Road can be a bit tricky, but we'll worth the trip. The views are amazing.
