Located in the municipality of Castellana Grotte, Castellana Caves were discovered by the Italian academic Franco Anelli in 1938. The largest and premier cave of this enormous complex is The Grave, which features precious crystals, and curtains which add to the beauty of the caves. This natural heritage of Puglia is unique because of the 3 peculiarities of The Grave, the concretions, and the White Cave.
