The Sepulchre Of Scipioni is quite an accidentally discovered archaeological site dating back to the 18th century and in 1920’s. It is the monumental tomb of the Roman family from the 3rd century B.C. Visiting here, you will understand the history of the important rulers namely Scipione Emiliano who demolished Cartagine and Scipione Africano who defeated Annibale. Surrounded by the tuft wall, the Sepulchre of Scipioni is set up on a square shaped base holding the replica burials of Scipione Barbato. Other attractions of this site include the castle, columbarium with frescoes, lime production space called “calcara” and many remnant burials of Republican Era.
