The Anfiteatro Romano or the Roman Amphitheatre of Catania is an archaeological ruin located the heart of the city. Built during the 300, the Anfiteatro Romano is now in a sunken state with a little section visible from the Piazza Sresicoro. The ruins are part of the Greco Roman Archaeological Park in Catania. An ironwork gate will give you access to the amphitheatre which was decorated with the marble columns. The columns have capitals supporting architrave. The shape of the amphitheatre is elliptical which is enclosed by radial walls while the cave seats are supported by vaults. You will see the external facade on the gallery outside structure.
