Castella Ursino And Museuo Civico - Review
Castello Ursino & Museo Civico is a castle-cum-museum. The museum part of the building was opened in 1934, when the city was in urgent need of a civic museum. Castle Ursino seemed to be the perfect place because of its vast structure and ample empty space inside. The museum now holds the collection of Biscari-Benedictines, the collection of Zappala Asmundo and many other private donations. The museum is also home to a large number of unique items and paintings.

Castella Ursino And Museuo Civico, Catania Reviews
I was there on August 14, 2018 and was blown away by the fabulous museum. A real treasure in Catania. It was warm in the museum but completely bearable. Air conditioning would be better for the preservation of the art work however.
This museum cum gallery has NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!! Even in this sweltering summer. I couldn’t fathom whether this place was a place of exhibition or a place of torture. I was drenched in sweat after a walk around their exhibition. Catania really needs some improvements on maintaining adequate temperature in their major attractions.
Prettier on the outside than in. Overpriced (12 euros per adult) considering it takes about an hour to get through it, the lighting is absolutely horrendous and makes most of the paintings unwatchable. The toilet was half out of service (men's was closed), had no soap, drier or towels. Elevator also out of service!
There was an art exhibition on in the castle during our vist which was nice, but it didn't allow you to get a sense of the castles history.
Position great, staff polite and really helpful, the Sgarbi art show was fantastic, the lift didn't work, but the place is totally accessible, the kids under 12, not pay, nice place to visit
