  • I went on late spring (and of may) and the weather was ok, even though there was snow cap on the top. You can see the smoke coming out of the volcano all the time and the now cold lava rivers from the past eruptions. There are many activities organized and it's very touristy orientated. We tried the buggies (ATV) and were taken to a lava cave, also enjoyed a great deal panoramic views. If not you can go to the top with the ski-lift and then even higher to about 3000m above sea level. After that you can walk around the Silvestri craters, or check the souvenir shops and try different kind of honey or liquor. Great place but you must stay at least several hours and have your wallet ready. Couple of hours were not enough for us.

  • I probably would'nt have enjoyed myself in the summer months but l was there snowshoeing in February and l can assure you guys that this was an amazing experience like any other Alpine winter trail...l would definately go back again some time soon.

  • 1 big circus, astonished by the amount of rubbish lying around on the lava slopes. Very disappointed. We moved on to the other side of the volcano, away from the crowds.

  • Fabulos view from the summit. Guide does not go over 3000 m

  • It look really cool and look like Lava is stand go
