It’s great to experience another wonderful active volcano. The options to get to the top is great to have however we decided to use the lifts and 4x4 due to the group of people we were with. Oh did I mention the views from the top was amazing !? Bring your selfie sticks.
Great volcano. The activity where we had to outrun the lava flows were the best for me.Enjoyed watching the main show of ash clouds soaring 50km above the sky and the 1km high lava fountains were fantastic.Definitely coming back.
This is a hike worth doing. You don't actually have to hike Etna.. only the large craters around Etna. The rocks are loose so it is good to have actual hiking boots. I strongly recommend bringing a jacket as volcano causes the temperature to be very different than the rest of Sicily. There is a funicular for those who are not interested in hiking.
Recommended if you like hiking on black-pebble mountains. The cable car and bus tickets are pricey. Could take up to 4-5 hour walk from the bottom to the farthest point that allowed.
Beautiful location a must visit. Make sure you dress up very well is it will be freezing cold and take extra set of cloths with you or for the kids as if you end up playing in the snow your cloths will get wet. The view from top are amazing. Worth the visit for sure we will go again.
