Overlooking the Seine River, the magnanimous catholic church of Eglise Notre Dame is the main worship centre in Caudebec-en-Caux town. Often dubbed as one of the most wonderful churches in France, the Eglise Notre Dame boasts of the Renaissance and contemporary Flamboyant Gothic style. The verses of “Pulcra es and Decora” are inscribed in Gothic letters on the balustrade of the roof. The intricately carved portal with the 333 sculptures of saints and the 54 metre bell tower with its openwork arrow also are striking features. The stained glass windows from 15th and 16th centuries, the 4.5 metre keystone, the carved wooden baptismal fonts and the Renaissance organ are the highlights to the interior of the church.
