  • Beautiful, free to visit. I believe the ferry ride is free, though I'm not sure as I drove from the north. The cave cave is neat, but don't get too excited it's a small park. Still worth a visit if your in the area, Garden Of the Gods is only a 20 min drive to the north.

  • The entire Shawnee National Forest area is like a wonderful gem in this otherwise very unfortunate state. We can't get good political leaders here to save our lives (well, to save our economy, anyway), but we at least have this fantastic area down by the river. Cave in Rock SP is one of the attractions. There's not a whole lot to it, but how much do you need? It's a cave. Pretty cool. Enough said. Never too crowded, and you'll leave feeling happier than when you arrived, at least until you turn on the radio and hear about whatever it is that the idiots in Springfield and Chicago were doing while you were exploring.

  • Beautiful scenery. Dog friendly. Well maintained. We had a wonderful afternoon walking the trails and taking pictures of the formations. Lots to see and do around the area.

  • Just an awesome stopping point for anyone on the road and wants to see a cool cave. Really nice on a hot day. Its several degrees cooler once inside.

  • I like it! I've been many times with my husband and enjoyed it every time. I read the one stars on this review just for s$%@s and giggles... no McDonald's nowhere close. Rose Cafe is a great hold in the wall place to eat just down the road. If your not really the outdoor type at least a little don't expect to find beauty in this cave. Don't expect to enjoy the short walk to the cave. If you don't like nature don't expect to like it here either. 😝 On the other hand if you do enjoy outdoor a little it's a short walk... can park at the top parking lot and take stairs down Or Park at the first lower parking area no stairs on this path. Its definitely not mammoth cave still neat to check out. Short path walks beside the river and up to the cave. Neat place to take pictures. If you go up the stairs to the very top you get a good view of the ohio river and the ferry. Cool place for some pictures. FREE STATE PARK!! I can't understand the 1 star rating when this place is FREE. No workers. Just a natural cave. I'm sure there are park rangers at some point but for the most part there nobody there. How you mad. Lmao. FREE FREE FREE 👍🏽👍🏽 😊😊😊😊😊 ❤❤❤❤❤ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
