Kawasan Falls - Review

Just 130 kilometers southwest of Cebu City and about three hours bus ride, the Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountains of Barangay Matutinao, Badian. Silver cascades of waters drop down into gorgeous freshwater pools that beckon visitors to swim and explore the surroundings further. There are two main waterfalls and they are known for their turquoise blue water basins. If you can trek a bit to the second tier of the falls, you will find yourself away from the crowds of tourists and in true company of nature. You can even rent bamboo rafts that take you right under the waterfall.

  • One of the best local tours we took. If you're a group of 6 and up, rent a van from Cebu City. The van cost about 5k for a whole day for a back and forth journey. Local guides are so helpful and even know how to take your photos and videos. The jumps are enjoyable but scary and is not for the faint of heart.

  • Definer with going. Team bonding trust building by jumping off cliffs. Get a good guide. And bring some peso to enjoy the BBQ halfway. For those who great heights. Just jump😄

  • Multiple waterfalls alert!! this is a nice place to go for fresh air and a swim in cool natural water from the mountain. There are a few waterfalls within Kawasan, all with different activities from swing (Tarzan swing from waterfall) , Canoeing (without the boat) and also the very famous jumps (as high as 15m). As it can be dangerous, a helmet, life jacket and proper hiking shoes are needed. You can hire a guide that would gear you up for 1500 php per pax which includes a bike ride to the top.

  • Nature at it's finest! Will be one of the best and treasured adventures in my lifetime! Breath taking scenery from the top of the mountains. Thrilling and nerve-racking cliff jumps. Fun and excitement and everything else. Still fun in the Philippines!

  • The long walk to the falls is the first challenge to overcome. Good thing is that they have well paved routes and a few slippery portions. Along the way you’ll find small stalls selling food and souvenir items. Upon reaching the area you will be overwhelmed with so many people. There just weren’t enough cottages. There’s an unfinished building structure which shouldn’t have been built in the first place. The water was murky. Not good at all.
