Halls Harbour Lobster Pound, Centreville Reviews
Excellent location to enjoy local lobster. Beautiful setting with outdoor seating and lots of parking. If times right can see the tide come in or out in the little harbor. Easy access to a nice beach to enjoy even more views. Well worth the trip.
A wonderful experience to eat lobster. You purchase your meal in the gift shop, in which they pick out the live lobster for you. At that time, you actually walk the lobster to the cooking area and leave it to be prepared. While waiting for the lobster dinner, you can walk around the dock. We were there at sunset, which may not work depending on the time of year (they close at 8pm). Lobster we amazing and their local beers were excellent.
Find two photographs at the general store that show the community's boats during high and low tide. The difference is dramatic! The restaurant looks great, but I did not eat there. The Beach has black sand but gets very rocky close to the shore.
Whether you are local or just visiting...this place is a must see and eat at!!! Halls Harbour is drenched in history (take in a good Ghost Walk) and eat at this beautiful spot. The food is amazing, the scenery is spectacular and it is good for the whole family. I used to visit here as a tourist but now we live here and I still can't get enough!
Nice outdoor deck and a nice view. The food (fish and chips) was just ok considering the lobster pound was next door...I was hoping for fresh fish. Being a local I know what fresh fish tastes like. Should have ordered lobster
