Chamba is a quaint little town in the state of Himachal Pradesh and is situated on the banks of the Ravi River. The town dates back to somewhere around 2nd century BC and is said to have been ruled by Maru dynasty. The town has several popular palaces and temples and every year hosts two well-known jatras namely the Minjar Mela and the Suhi Mata Mela which lasts for several days and includes good music and dancing.
