Marking the fabled place where King Raja Kirti Pal was cured of leprosy, the Jageswari Temple adds yet another weave to Chanderi’s colorful history.
The main deity of the temple is Goddess Jageshwari located in a cave. There are also two Shiva lingams in the temple.
Parts of the temple date back to the 11th century and earlier and even though there are no official inscriptions on the temple, it still holds an important place in the town. Do observe the modest designs and simple architecture of the temple.
The highlight of the place is the annual Jageswari Devi Fair held in March- April.
- Admission to the place is free.
