Changchun Geological Palace MuseumCurrently Closed
Established in 1952 this geological museum houses the oldest of fossils in the world. Not only that, it even conducts scientific research and exchange programs with foreign countries. The museum is divided into two parts namely the Geo-scientific section and the Dinosaur section. The former exhibits the illustrations of earth’s geology along with, crystals, minerals and various types of stones. It also houses the world’s oldest fossil of a dragonfly which is about 140 million year old. The Dinosaur section has skeleton fossils of these animals along with some reconstructed models. They also houses other fossils of various other reptiles and vertebrates from the pre historic era. The trip to the museum is surely to kindle curiosity in the young as well the old.
