The Mill Garden is situated at the bottom of the Mill Street and is famed for the excellent quality of its planting in an unfathomable setting. It is a private garden that covers an area of half an acre and is open to the public. The exceptionally stunning Mill Garden was created over a period of 60 years by late Arthur Measures who made it a beautiful expression of his love for plants. On one side is the river as well as the ruin of the ancient bridge whose roadway once lead to where today there are flowers and lawns. The Caesar’s Tower looms overhead on the other side and the beautiful castle makes for one of the most unique and dramatic backdrops for a garden.
