This is a cable- stayed bridge that has been constructed over the beautiful Cooper River. The bridge was formerly known as John.P.Grace Memorial Bridge, after the name of the former Mayor of the city. Later on at the time of renovation, the bridge was renamed after the very famous retired US Congressman Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.
This bridge is now not only an important roadway but also a very popular tourist spot. The reason for its popularity is the fact that it also acts as a lookout place from where we can get a spectacular view of the Cooper River and the lovely surroundings till far off. Standing on this bridge for some time gives a magical calmness to the mind and body maybe because of the cool breeze from the river or the sight of the greenery from quite a distance.
- The view of sunset from this bridge looks mesmerizing.
