With the tagline and message of ‘come in and smell the spices!’, Clay freeman started this fabulous initiative of hands on blending and mixing of choices. They have a range of variety of spices and teas. You have the opportunity to mix and blend these to make ingredients such as salt and sugar. The variety of teas available here are for tasting as well as blending.
The variety of ingredients that are in most demand include Tuscany Spice Blend, Pirate’s Bite Spice Blend, Backwoods Hickory rub, Florida sunshine Spice Blend, butcher’s Rub, espresso Steak Rub, Signature Spice blend, Black Truffle Sea salt, Vik’s garlic Fix, Crazy chicken Spice Blend, etc. this is altogether a very different and interesting experience.

The Spice And Tea Exchange Reviews & Ratings
I love this store! I am from New Jersey and have to go in each time I visit Charleston. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is charming. They have such a large variety of spices and local flavor. I feel like I can bring Charleston back home to NJ with me!
Fun place to visit. They have sample stations where you can taste and smell different spices. I bought a bunch of stuff.
Very friendly staff. A lot of samples out and available. Which usually don't influence what I purchase. However they had a seasoning mix for a dip that was great. And it had to come home with us. Always love going to this store when visiting Asheville. And was a nice surprise to see it here in Charleston. Always a must stop.
We live near Charleston and visit The Spice & Tra Exchange regularly. Products are very good but a bit pricey for me. Regardless, I still would recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed!
If you are a foodie or an aspiring or accomplished cook this is the place to visit. The selection is mindblowing.
