Very friendly staff and the waffles are awesome. We did go there at about midnight, so unfortunately we did see a few pretty lit customers. Other then that I think it's a pretty good place to get some food, any time of day. Eat up traveler.
I've been to this location numerous times, and this time it was a little slow, too busy, or they were short staffed. We arrived and the waitresses were running around servicing other patrons. Some of the tables weren't clean, so there wasn't any seating. Once we got a table, and eventually placed our orders, we waited 30 minutes for our food. Once we got it though, it was worth it. Either that or we were starved. Anyway, our waitress was very pleasant and she continuously apologized for the wait.
Grew up close by & now live close again. Good to have food available. Waitstaff has definitely gotten less enthused over the years. Actually went in around 10 p.m. a few weeks ago. Wasn't busy, people behind us got food before we even got a "hello". Never got waited on or acknowledged otherwise. We waited about 30 minutes, so hungry or else we would've left sooner, watched the waitress walk outside with another customer on crutches to carry food for him. Thought that was nice except she never came back inside. Cook & waiter seemed to be doing stuff the whole time but never spoke to us. There was 1 other table paying as we came in, otherwise it wasn't busy in the least. Stinks that that's "my" Waffle House. We've been going to the John's Island location & having a much better experience! Hopefully this 1 will turn around.
I called last night at 11:28pm to see how busy they were and when I was told they weren't busy I placed an order. The man who answered the phone told me it would be 10-15 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later at 11:43pm and he said the food was being prepared and asked if I wanted to take care of the check. I went ahead and paid to save time, since I was running short on time (The entire reason I order take out from Waffle House). I waited another 5 minutes (11:48pm) and he gave me half of my order, and told me the waffle I ordered was cooking. After ANOTHER 5 minutes (11:53pm), he told me that the waffle he had seen cooking was for someone else, but that they were putting my waffle on now. I was finally handed my waffle at 11:59pm, a grand total of 31 minutes after my initial phone call. That wouldn't have bothered me much if I wasn't supposed to clock into work at 12:00am midnight, which meant that I had 1 minute to make a 15 minute drive to North Charleston. I'm never going to eat at this location again.
Let me start off by saying I worked at the Waffle House on highway 78 so I understand how Waffle House runs and I would have never of treated a costumer this way. This was by far the worst experience I've had. I walked in to place a Togo order. Stood there for about 15 minutes and wasn't acknowledged. I was asked "are you trying to sit at the bar?" And when I said "no I need to place a Togo order" they walked away. I then after the 15 minutes went towards the register hoping someone would notice me. Nope. I stood there for about another 10 minutes and all I got was a look and walk away as if they didn't want to be bothered. In this time they also denied about 4 costumers who called wanting to place a Togo order stating it was "to busy" i don't know how this Waffle House runs or if these employees were new but on highway 78 we never denied a paying costumer. So one lady came back on from smoking a cigarette (how she managed to do so when it was to busy to take order I'll never understand) and I asked if they were not taking orders. She replied with " not over the phone" I said "how about in person because I've been here over twenty minutes and haven't even been acknowledged " her response was "we'll get to you when we can, we're to busy." While all this was going on the cook was constantly yelling, one server kept mumbling under her breath "you've got to be kidding." And "I don't know what the hell im doing" so after I was told they couldn't take my order after I had waited so long I left. Sucks to all those who denied taking my order because I usually give a generous tip. Most unprofessional, disrespectful trip I've ever had at this Waffle House. I seriously hope things change because I couldn't believe the way I was treated today.
