Freedom Park, Charlotte Reviews

  • Fantastic park to stroll. I just wish there was one more set of facilities closer on the other side/end of the lake. If you’ve gotta go and you’re on the wrong side of the lake. Well, good luck. The park is very well maintained. All of the children’s areas are concentrated on one side. You don’t even notice them if you stick with the track around the lake. It’s nice for people like me who have a short tolerance for screaming children. I don’t hate kids, I just can’t tune out screaming. This is definitely Charlotte’s best park all-around. Plus it’s tied to the extensive sugar creek greenway so you can walk here from miles around with ease.

  • Had our family reunion BBQ here. Air conditioned facility with kitchen, clean restrooms, and dining area. Beautifully landscaped park. Great variety of plants and trees. Clean, public restrooms also available. Very scenic views.

  • Great park. Love walking around the water. Nice wooded and shaded trail too. During the summer months I recommend bringing water. There is usually a vendor there on the weekends selling drinks and ice cream but other than that you will have to use a water fountain.

  • This is a must see place in Charlotte. My family went there when I was a child. I have taken my children and now grandchildren. We always have an amazing time. There are so many things to do and see. You could spend the whole day here. Be sure to bring refreshments.

  • Big beautiful park. Great for strolling, biking, & picnics. Someone found a group of trees to put up their hammocks the other day. Love that the Greenway runs through here also.
