Graves International Art Reviews & Ratings

  • I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Alex Graves who has an excellent knowledge of art within a historical and material context. Graves Gallery offers museum quality artworks and houses a distinguished collection of work of historical and cultural significance. Whether you are an art enthusiast, an academic, or simply curious about art, Graves Gallery is a true gem and a place for meaningful dialogue.

  • I met John and his son Alex who run the gallery about two years ago. They do a great job. Very friendly, never any pressure to buy. John's knowledge of art is deep and his passion is clear. Son Alex is learning from a real master. There is another son--Jack--who is an amazing young artist and his works are featured prominently. If you are lucky, you can catch Jack there and talk about his art with him. My father is an artist so I grew up around art, art galleries, and art museums. John and Alex's gallery is the most fun art place I've ever been.

  • The art here should be in a museum with an entrance fee. You wouldn't know it unless you walked inside. The owners are doing a very good job making it an awesome place to visit.

  • There is nothing more wonderful than being in front of a amazingly crafted work of art; be it a sculpture, painting, a print or in deed a reproduction of one of the masters. Whether you are looking to purchase a new work of art to hang or simply enjoy looking at art of all types, Graves International Art is one of the best to do so. I first met John Graves in his gallery in Taunton England over 50 years ago where he was a dealer in fine arts. After having other gallery's over the years John now has a new gallery here in Charlottesville where he features unique works of art and hosts special events and exhibitions; where you can meet the artist and learn the history behind each piece of art. If you're interested in fine art, collecting fine art, or just interested in viewing and enjoy, it's worth visiting John Graves or his son Jack and making use of their vast wealth of knowledge regarding art. As a collector and lover of all things beautiful that have been created over the years by talented men and women I recommend visiting Graves International Art.
