Saunders-monticello Trail Reviews & Ratings
The trails are fantastic great for families you can even use a stroller for the main trail. There is an old tree that kids use as a play area and it is really cute. Get there early though because the parking is a bit annoying and it's tight. The nice thing about the trails is it it's impossible to get lost you can go explore different trails and get yourself lost but everything ends up back at the main trail so you never actually get lost. Great for exploring
Both the Saunders trail and the Secluded Farm trail are amazing. I have been driving 35 miles one way for 11 yrs to do these trails. Parking is always problematic especially on weekends, but the wooded trail is well worth the drive especially if you love the woods. Always be aware of the snakes and the occasional bear you may run into though.
Just the most wonderful walking trail! It's so safe and well maintained and we're so fortunate to have it right here in Charlottesville!
Well maintained, fun little out and back trail, up and down the mountain.
The Saunders trail was very pleasant to walk and jog up and down on the spring day I visited Monticello. It is not very steep, bug it is very pretty. I found the trail clean, with some well-placed trash cans along the way.
