It is a 180 acre preserve housing 2 miles of trails and the 35-acre Southerland Pond which is a lovely site for kayaking, fishing and canoeing. The rolling grasslands, spectacular views of mountains, and the forest habitats give you lots to admire while you are walking on the well-kept trails or sitting by the pond trying to catch a fish. When you will take a casual walk, you will find yourself very close to nature and every step further will infuse you with peace and serenity. The open fields are great for hiking. Come and spend some time in the lap of nature.

Ooms Conservation Area At Sutherland Pond Reviews & Ratings

  • Definitely has Beautiful views. I've seen this place grow and change for the better since I was a little girl. We used to go fishing here with my dad when I was a small child and used to pass it everyday on our school bus route. I'm so glad they turned it into a conservation area (and put it on the map) so other people can visit and enjoy its beauty like I have for the past 25 years.

  • Lovely paths over rolling hills of grass. On a hot summer day we enjoyed the breeze, the views and were surrounded by birds and butterflies. Sweet. The path around the water takes less than an hour.

  • Absolutely stunning, clean, peaceful park. Visiting from Florida & it didn't disappoint. Serene lake and quaint walking paths. I wven found a grocache (gps guided treasure hunt) Beautiful natural area with an information pavillion, log book and lovely benches with lake view. Good for a quick stop or a nice day.

  • Very nice pond and place to walk around. Love the area.

  • Another fun time at Ooms Conservation Area thanks to the Stewards of the Property and Mr Ooms
