The Old Chalk Mine or the Chelm Chalk Tunnels is a historic chalk mine that consists of multilevel complex of passages which today forms a distinct reminder of the age-old chalk mining industry. Guided tours allow you to tour the mine and enjoy the thrill of exploring the passages, take in the mine’s vastness and the unadorned beauty of the white walls. Even though most of the tunnels of the Old Chalk Mine have been blocked today, a two kilometres stretch does remain open for the visitors.
