Markuskirche, or Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirchgemeinde St. Markus Chemnitz is an English church that was built in the year 1893 in the German city of Chemnitz. The church opened its doors to the public on 13 November 1895. During the Second World War, this church sustained many damages and over the years underwent political repression, demolition and new construction. The church reopened in the year 2000 and has since then been a regular meeting points for children, youth, adults and seniors. Many groups are associated with this church, and while some of them play various kinds of music here, one group is solely dedicated to the reconstruction and preservation of the church. This church looks marvellous with its tall spires and beautifully constructed building. The insides of the church welcome you with its many paintings, frescos, and murals. Tours of the church are available.
