A serpentarium includes around 104 snakes, including cobras, which are kept in an air conditioned environment complete with a hot spot. A shark shaped aquarium at the zoo houses 31 species of fresh water fish.

At the entrance visitors are screened and are not allowed to take snacks and food inside the zoo, however milk and biscuits are allowed if accompanied by small children. • It's a huge size zoo. You'll definitely become tired if you want to watch everything just by walk. So, plan minimum to spend minimum 4-5 hours. Cycle & battery car is also available with different ticket price. Zoo is maintained in a average manner. Variety of animals can be seen. It's better to avoid entering into butterfly section since there is nothing to see except an abandoned building. Everything else is good.

  • This is a very big zoo.Quite clean and well maintained. Lots of stalls at regular intervals for refreshments, but it's all overpriced, same as most zoos. Lots of varieties of animals and birds. Don't miss the safari. A clean 5 hours is required if you opt to walk, else rent a bicycle for which you would need to come a bit early if it's a weekend. Feels like a good place to come enjoy with family. Easily accessible by bus and local train.Just get down at Vandalur station and walk, else take a share auto. In short , will be worth the time.

  • Visit it when you are up for an exercise day. Not a great walker, then do take a bicycle, you won't regret this decision. Great place for toddlers who walk on their own. Babies and toddlers around 2 can take the child basket and enjoy their ride while their parents ride the bicycle. And animals, oh you' ll see.. They are awesome..

  • Recently visited after a long time. The Zoo has been upgraded with barriers and clean shelters for animals. Good number of animals are there. People who visits will not find any ATM nearby so take enough money in hand as they don't accept cards. The walk will take nearly 4 hours to see everything. so plan for both morning and afternoon walks. you can bring and eat cooked home food but have to be sensible and responsible. we have tried a Lion safari where vehicle is parked beside lions and costed only Rs.100 per adult. It is worth the money as you can see them very near. You can buy the tickets for safari together with entrance ticket itself

  • This is a big zoological park. Travellers come around anywhere loves it most as there are lot of animals, refreshment stall , restrooms, apart from this travellers are provided rental cycle as well as SUV services by paying amount. There are a lot of setting arrangement cleaned net and well maintained place. Excellent place recommended to visit!
