Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Chennai Reviews

  • It's a great place to visit in proximity of Chennai with family or friends or even alone. Worth spending half day going around the ZOO either in electric car or by bicycle. Lion and Deer Safari are also good as get to see the Lion or Lioness very close. Good number of wildlife animals, birds, snakes, crocodiles and more. I personally suggest taking a bicycle ride for who can ride and it's fun. Good number of rest rooms and drinking water facilities. I can't comment on food, as we carried out home cooked food which cannot be carried inside. Kids food boxes are allowed though. So, have heavy breakfast, roam around ZOO, get out and have your food. Good number of restaurants as well nearby ZOO. Weekends are heavily packed with public and first come first serve basis for electric cabs and cycles. Hope this helps to plan better. Happy Outing!! Kids would definitely love the place !!

  • Very big. Entry fee seems less but for cycles and safari they ask higher rates. Nice place to see so many animals. We took lion and deer safari ride that was awesome and short. We could see only 5 lions and 5 deer's. Disappointed. But we have seen all wild animals. Elephant eating, and cycling in the park is joyful.

  • A very nice place to spend time with your family and friends. It's a very big Zoo, has animals from love birds to elephants, crocodiles to white tigers. Entry fee is ₹50 plus ₹25 for mobile phones n cameras. You will get bicycles for rent at a rate of ₹20/hour. It has Lion and Deer safari which is also very good. It has E-vehicles to roam you around the zoo, has cafeteria and one small museum also. If you want to be in the wild, then this the perfect place for you.

  • Clean & Well maintained spacious Park. Staff is very cooperative. You need to walk long distances. I visited with my 4 year old kid. He enjoyed watching animals. Just 1 request to Management: Please put information at Tickets counter that Lion safari won't start unless you have minimum 15-20 people. We waited for almost 2 hours for it.

  • Good place to spend time with family & kids. Avoid peak summer since you will be exhausted. Carry food in containers. They don't allow any plastic bags or containers. There is a canteen as well with Nominal price food. I loved the peacock dancing & chimpanzee activities. Lion's roar is another nice thing to hear... Tiger Safari is good as well. Charging extra for camera mobile phones is not appreciable
