Besant Nagar Beach - Review
Perfect to escape the hysteria of the city, Besant’ Nagar’s Elliot beach is one of the most refreshing beaches of the city. No short of any happening chowpatti, you will find lots of recreation activities here. From kids play areas including a Ferris wheel, some lip-smacking street food and lots of fresh flower selling vendors this beach is a lot of fun in many ways.
In the evenings, you will find a lot of youngsters coming to the promenade that is lined with popular eateries, to hang out. Geographically, its importance lies in the fact that it is the Marina Beach’s end point. The beach derives its name from the once Governor of Madras, Edward Elliot. Besant Nagar Beach, Chennai Reviews
Visiting this place more than a decade. A lot of changes in past few years. Quiet and small beach when compared to Chennai Marina. Remember it is our responsibility to not to throw garbage, so that everyone can enjoy the atmosphere. Small unique snacks shop and hotels add some beauty to this place. Usually weekdays are less crowded but now a days could see some crowd all the day. Weekends are always crowded. No public toilet available.
A memorable experience. A friendly crowd and pleasant view. There are places where there is so much litter. The experience of a beach is there but if you have hygienic concerns then it won't be a good choice to visit at the moment of this post. And there are lots of places to grab quick bites or a whole hearted lunch or dinner. Most places can provide exquisite cuisine. I didn't regret it. But I wish the beach is cleaner.
Wonderful in the evening..... Best place to spend time with friends. Take around Rs.500 just to play games ...... Throwing ring, balls, shot arrows. We got a teddy bear and two parrots, a cup and saucer... So much fun with the snacks kola ice, paniyaram, but the price of potato was too high..... Must visit in the evening...
Best beach in Chennai. Although not accessible by train, it is accessible by car or auto. The place has one of the best eateries in Chennai. The beach is clean and it is best if you visit in the evening. It also has small shacks where you get tasty food at low prices. You must try the Spring Potato at the beach and the raw mangoes. There are also fish fry and bhajji stalls where you will get squid fry as well !! Lovely place you'll fall in love with it ! It is a huge beach so if you want you can also have a small picnic there.
One of the best beaches in Asia! Nice place to hangout with friends during weekends. Shore is neat and well maintained! The worst part is some unauthorised people collecting parking charges for our vehicles even though it is free. I don't know how these people suddenly raises. Opposite to beach U can see all kind of restaurants where you can enjoy your food!
