A place that is not just a cricket stadium but the grounds of history, where icons and legends have been born, the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium is a must one very list of the best things to do in Chennai. Established in 1916, this stadium boasts of the fact that it is the “oldest continuously used cricket stadium in the country.” The stadium is also counted as one of the friendliest pitches for spinners. The stadium derives its name from the then President of BCCI, M A Chidambaram. The stadium was previously referred to as Madras Cricket Club Ground and today, is the home grounds of the Indian Premier League team Chennai Super Kings. M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Reviews
I had a great experience to watch live cricket here. I went here to watch inaugural TNPL opening match. When I saw the ground, i thought the distance was too small. Within a flash, batsman hit the bouncer to the point. By that time only i have realized, if u want to enjoy the match then you should watch in the ground otherwise simply take snacks and watch the match in Television.
Sucks to have one stand closed. It reduces the number of tickets being sold. If the stand is opened helps passionate cricket lovers to watch. No proper stand and plastic chairs are laid out for most of the stands. The entrance to the stadium is very small and becomes an ordeal by the time you are inside the stadium.
Such a nice atmosphere there I loved it but only horrible thing happened there is not allowing the person with bag and. Water bottle.. I came from far away but where can I keep my bag safe in Chennai. They could check it and allow us but they don't ready to answer for that. Finally I went to a mechanical shop and kept my bag there and watched only half innings really disappointed
Its really a great stadium and you will surely a great experience here and hope the court lifts the ban on the new stairs for the audience so that a lot more can enjoy the game
Nice stadium...it is located at very nice place I mean connectivity is very nice from the rest parts of the city... Nearby MRTS chepauk station is there also big bus stand anna square is also very near... Some stands are having very nice fixed chairs.... Sound system during matches is also very good.... I m giving one less star becoz of the only a reason that some stands kept closed always for some reason which reduces the capacity of stadium and leads disappointment for so many cricket lovers....
