Madras Crocodile Bank, Chennai Reviews - Write a Review
Please do not go in summer time... You will get exhausted.... You can see all major type of Crocodiles/Alligators here. Plan your visit on Sunday evening... The Asia's(Not sure Asia or India) longest Crocodile will come out on Sunday evening only.. that too for food... You can see them eating 5 Kg chicken.... Place is little smelly....
Excellent crocodile park with good collection. If you are a reptile lover it is a good place to be. The place is so beautiful, where you can see crocodiles of several varieties resting on their lands leisurely. Make sure you go around the feeding time, that's when you will see some activity. You can also see oldest star tortoise munching green grass carrying it's shelter and guides show live show of feeding crocodiles and other reptiles followed by a brief on them in both Tamil and English language. The place is well- maintained and clean, also snacks shop are available outside. Adoption scheme is also available and definitely this place is a visual treat for photographers. A small souvenir shop is available to buy toys of reptiles, tortoise as memories.
An ideal place for visit to reptiles. Park has snakes, tortoise, monitor lizards, crocodiles breeds from different places. Park also has largest Fresh water crocodile. Entry fee is nominal. Sufficient park space available. Informative park for kids
Must visit if you have a kid. Even visiting without kids, You would surely not regret visiting this place. So many varieties of crocodiles and other reptiles in their natural habitat, full grown trees. Will take 45 minutes for a leisure walk around the place. They have a shop selling crocodile bank merchandise like toys, shirts etc. Only drawback is parking is on the road side only, but that is understandable given that this facility was opened 50 years ago and maximum space is for the reptiles to enjoy and not for visitors. A very well maintained and fun place to enjoy and learn a thing or two about crocodiles. Sponsorship also available if you want to adopt a reptile and help the NGO in its noble cause. Price per adult Rs.50. Children less than or equal to 3 years go free.
A must visit place. Started from home on a holiday for a long drive at ECR and accidentally noticed this place. So we just dropped in and to my surprise it was just amazing. They had a wide range of crocodiles, snakes and turtles. The best part was venom extraction which had a separate entrance fee. It was a live show performed by professionals who were kind enough to repeat the process on different snakes upon request. Overall a good experience at a very reasonable price. Just loved it!
