Spencer Plaza - Review

Chennai does not cease to entertain you with an exhaustive list of shopping malls, the Spencer Plaza is another such mall perched on the Anna Salai street. Apart from being a fabulous entertainment opportunity, this mall is also considered as one of the modern landmarks of the city. Interestingly, the mall is a creation of the British Raj period when the same grounds were home to the original Spencer's departmental store. The store was later renovated to being a mall in given times. Thus, it also boasts of the title of being “he oldest shopping mall in India”. You will find a large assortment of electronics, kids and men’s apparels among other items.

  • The place which I had never seen with cleanliness and high security level ever ... Place with silence.. With respectful workers except the securities at the entrance... Lunch was delicious with more fun.. Peaceful place which I ever seen.... More fun more work... Thanks for the wonderful opportunity to made me to see this place... One of the remarkable place in my mind... No words to say something else... Come and fun ....

  • India's first mall, went out of trend after EA and Phoenix. But now there are small and mid level shops which sell good products for a cheaper price. Lot of options in clothing for boys, girls, men and ladies. Good bargain. Always a Spencer fan

  • THIS SHOPPING MALL IS QUIET BIG AND BEAUTIFUL FOR SHOPPING. ALL KINDS OF STUFF YOU CAN FIND THERE. I VISIT WITH MY KIDS THERE AND THEY ARE VERY HAPPY TO ENJOY MANY RIDE IN THE MALL INCLUDING TRAIN. IN THE MIDDLE OF MARKET BIG NICE WALL LOOK LIKE ITS A SELFY JONE. WASH ROOM ARE NEAT AND CLEAN. PRICE LITTLE HIGHER THAN OTHER MARKET. BUT YOU WILL FIND SOME EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION OF MANY THINGS IN THIS MALL.

  • Old but has plenty of collections, all you need is to explore shops and a bit bargain of prices. It has wide range of products for lifestyle and a loads. Though few shops were closed it has many shops in second and third floor. It was sure you can find Coolers, mobiles and lot of accessories in the shops. Don't miss the vintage collection that's available over there. Though some reputed shops are missing you can find the first copy over there.

  • Spencer plaza is one of our favourite places in Madras. They are still getting reasonable foot falls. It is still well maintained. It is sad to see some of the shops closed.
